Renown Author, Kinyanjui Kombani, Gives Back to Alma Mater
Kinyanjui Kombani, a renowned Kenyan author, has recently made a generous donation of over 1,500 books to his alma mater, Molo Academy. The donation was made possible through the support of Lions Clubs International Kenya and the efforts of Kombani's friends and fellow alumni.
Molo Academy holds a special place in Kombani's heart, as it is where he spent 12 years of his formative years. It is also where he discovered his passion for writing, initially as a comic artist and later as a prose fiction writer. In fact, the school played a significant role in the foundation of his first novel, 'The Last Villains of Molo'.
Kombani has always been passionate about building and equipping libraries, and this donation is a testament to that. He expressed his gratitude to Lions Clubs International Kenya for their support and to Sharon Kotut, who helped make the connections for the donation to happen. He also extended his thanks to Vikesh R. Gadhia for his support and fellow alumnus Karimi Beethoven for delivering the van-load of books to the school.
The donation includes a mix of fiction and non-fiction books, which will greatly benefit the students of Molo Academy. The school's library will now have a wider range of books for students to explore and expand their knowledge.
The team at A.P. Moller - Maersk, a global shipping company, also played a crucial role in making this donation possible. Kombani expressed his appreciation to Christopher Cook and Sharon for their support and assistance.
The students and staff of Molo Academy were overjoyed and grateful for the donation. The school's headmaster, Mr. John Kariuki, expressed his gratitude to Kombani and all those involved in making this donation a reality. He stated that the books will not only benefit the current students but also future generations to come.
Kombani's act of giving back to his alma mater serves as an inspiration to many and highlights the importance of supporting education and literacy in communities. His generosity will have a lasting impact on the students of Molo Academy and is a true testament to the saying, "Once a Moloan, always a Moloan."
